“Pinetrees Lodge is one of the oldest family businesses in Australia. We have lived on Lord Howe Island since 1848 and Pinetrees is now run by the sixth generation of the original family. Over 110 years of hospitality experience has taught us how to exceed your expectations.

Pinetrees is the perfect place to relax and escape the stress of everyday life. We provide exceptional meals, personalised service, comfortable accommodation and a beautiful waterfront location. Our boatshed is a great place for a shower after your swim in the lagoon, or for a cold beer or champagne while watching the sunset.

Our staff are experienced fisherman, surfers, walkers, photographers, golfers and divers. Every morning at breakfast, we’ll recommend where to go and what to do, depending on the weather and your level of enthusiasm. Some guests are happy to relax under one of the boatshed umbrellas, swim in the lagoon, and absorb the panorama of two of Australia’s most dramatic mountains. Other guests like to keep themselves busy – they might catch a 15kg kingfish, walk through ancient subtropical forest, surf perfect waves or dive on the southernmost coral reef in the Pacific Ocean. Guests can also challenge themselves on the island’s spectacular golf course.

We are serious about food. It's one of the features of a Pinetrees holiday. The quality of our food is exceptional, and you won't go hungry. Our four chefs have worked in some of Australia's best restaurants and can prepare meals for all dietary requirements. All you need to do is eat and enjoy - we'll do the shopping, cooking and cleaning.

 Palm Room

 Transit Hill Room
A comfortable en-suite room with tea & coffee making facilities, fridge and ceiling fan. The private covered verandah steps onto our sunny Chinese Elm lawn, and beyond to Transit Hill.

Existing Bedding Configuration: There's one king bed or twin single beds

 Under the Pines Room
A large en-suite room with tea & coffee making facilities, fridge, good cross-ventilation, soundproofing and ceiling fan.
Maximum Occupancy: 3
Existing Bedding Configuration: There's one queen bed and one single bed or 3 single beds

 1 Bedroom Suite
A large comfortable suite with separate bedroom, bathroom, lounge and covered verandah. The bedroom has a king bed, ceiling fan and private outlook into beautiful kentia palm forest. There's an iron, hair dryer, fridge, stereo (bring your own CDs, IPOD or USB device) and Nespresso machine. The suite is ideal for a young family as the lounge room can sleep an extra child.

Existing Bedding Configuration: Bedroom with king or 2 single beds. 1 day bed in the lounge for extra child

 Garden Cottage
An architect-designed 60m2 cottage with large master bedroom, large bathroom, dining area, lounge and private north-facing verandah. The bedroom has a queen bed, single bed, ceiling fan and private terrace. There's an iron, hair dryer, fridge, stereo (bring your own CDs, IPOD or USB device) and Nespresso machine. The lounge can be converted to a second bedroom with 2 single beds. This is our premium accommodation and is in high demand.

Existing Bedding Configuration: Bedroom with one queen and single bed, lounge can have two single beds

 3 Bedroom Cottage
The cottage has three bedrooms, dining area, lounge, kitchen and covered verandah. There's only one bathroom. The master bedroom has a queen bed, while the other bedrooms have either twin beds or a double bed. All bedrooms have ceiling fans. There's an iron, hair dryer, fridge and tea & coffee making facilities. The cottage is perfect family accommodation. Rates vary depending on the number of people. Please enquire for details.

 4 Bedroom Cottage
The cottage has four bedrooms, dining area, large lounge room, kitchen, covered verandah and private timber deck. Three bedrooms have en-suites. The master bedroom has a queen bed, while the other bedrooms can have either twin beds or queen beds. All bedrooms have ceiling fans. There's an iron, hair dryer, fridge, stereo (bring your own CDs, IPOD or USB device) and Nespresso machine. The cottage is perfect for families or small groups.
