“With clear views over the Pacific Ocean and the world's southern-most coral reef, Capella Lodge rests above Lord Howe Island's tiny, secret beach at Lover's Bay and at the foot of the imperious twin peaks, Mounts Gower and Lidgbird.
Guests are captivated by mesmerising views of the mountains and turquoise lagoon stretching to the horizon from the Lodge's indoor and outdoor lounging areas, the restaurant and suites. A clever, contemporary architectural design features an open-plan bar, restaurant and lounge to create an easy living, flow-through feel; skillion roofs and floor to ceiling windows welcome the outside in.
The restaurant throws open its windows to catch the sea breeze and the scent of frangipani. Interiors are Lord Howe beach-house chic; washed wood and luxe organic finishes combine with modern mariner and Lord Howe kentia-themed Bruce Goold furnishings to create a relaxed, contemporary style and streamlined luxury.
From the expansive Gowers Terrace, a dip in the horizon pool or lounging with a book or a loved one carries a spectacular backdrop of mountains and subtropical forests, of green pastures running to the jewel-toned reef. Guests relax with sunset drinks as the sun dips over the horizon.
Capella Lodge holds a far-reaching reputation as Lord Howe's knock-out dining destination. Rates at Capella include gourmet breakfast, sunset drinks and canapes, three course dinner with selected wines and all non-alcoholic beverages. Lunch is available in the Restaurant or as a picnic or BBQ to enjoy on a walk or paddle on the lagoon. The Capella team of chefs are happy to accommodate specific dietary requirements; as a remote destination it's important to advise these before arriving to stay. Any favourite items are best brought along.

Capella has an intimate nine contemporary island-style suites to choose from, all complementing Lord Howe’s pristine natural environment and provide a luxurious, serene refuge. All suites feature king beds, designer ensuites with rainshower, Bose music system (with MP3 input), TV, DVD, telephone, wireless internet, safe and in-suite bar. Beachtowels, backpacks, bathrobes and hairdryer are provided.
Capella Suite
Single level featuring timber floors, beach house inspired interiors, expansive outdoor deck with day bed.

Catalina Suite

Lidgbird Pavilion

Exclusive use of electric buggy is included.

Capella will make every endeavour to have your room ready for check-in but the standard policy is in rule.

Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing
If cancellations are effected within 60 days of scheduled arrival, a cancellation fee equal to 50% will be forfeited..
If cancellations are effected within 30 days of scheduled arrival, a cancellation fee equal to 100% will be forfeited.
